Over 300 attendees will gather for The Onward House Winter Gala at City Winery to celebrate the historic settlement house’s 125th year of Service to Chicagoans in need of low cost educational programs for children and youth, and programs that bridge adults to their long-term goals.

Night of Bright features  City Winery cuisine that borrows from Mediterranean history – Italian, French, Spanish and Middle-Eastern cultures, and music that will get you on your feet performed by audience favorite, Soda Rocks. Inspiring live and silent auctions from some of Chicago’s most famous institutions.

Don your most fabulous frock for a good cause at the Night of Bright Futures Gala, which will help provide  educational and support programs too the Northwest Side.

We open doors to improve lives and uplift communities through educational, economic, and support services.


Education is the cornerstone of Onward Neighborhood House programming. We provide educational opportunities for all ages.


Onward House provides support to families in crisis through a Food Pantry, and connections to resources and other partnership organizations.


Onward House provides job readiness classes and one-on-one assistance for job seekers, as well as computer classes and resources for entrepreneurs.

The success of Onward Neighborhood House is made possible by the generosity of our donors.

Our Community

We are a trusted human services and resource center in Belmont Cragin neighborhood of Chicago. By developing deep bonds with the families in our area, we are able to effectively provide a welcoming, safe space and holistic educational and social services that increase the self-sufficiency of the residents in our community. Language and technology literacy is a critical need in Belmont Cragin. Low literacy translates into lost wages, foregone promotions, unemployment and the likelihood of government assistance.
