Working Toward Home Ownership – Evelyn’s Family Story

Evelyn came to Onward House when she needed childcare for her oldest child who was three years old. Her previous home daycare was too expensive and was out of her way. Luckily, a cousin recommended that she enroll her children at Onward House’s Early Childhood Education and School Age programs.

“I would recommend Onward House over any other daycare. The teachers and staff are very kind, my kids love coming every day.”

At Onward House Evelyn learned that everyone, from teachers to family support workers, were willing to help parents and kids with resources. Staff were even able to explain that her oldest “had a different way of comprehending” and provided help so she could learn how best to support her daughter’s education, and access afterschool tutoring for her elementary-age daughter. “I would recommend Onward House over any other daycare. The teachers and staff are very kind. My kids love coming every day.”

One of Evelyn’s main goals in the future is to buy her family a house. Onward House can help her meet that goal: “While I am at work they are looking after my girls.”
